Retired Teachers Association Walking Group

A group of 60 or so retired teachers living in the Adelaide area, running four grades of walk, each once or twice a month, on Wednesday or Thursday mornings between February and December. Also an annual camp holiday either in rural SA or western Victoria. Annual walk calendar.

National Trust, Hahndorf Branch

The Hahndorf Branch of the National Trust of Australia is primarily concerned with conserving the unique history and heritage of Hahndorf, which was settled by German migrants in 1839. They brought with them their cultural and agricultural traditions and successfully adapted them to their new environment.

Mid North Branch, Friends of the Heysen Trail

A branch of the Friends of the Heysen Trail, in the Mid North, which conducts a walking program. They also maintain a lengthy section of the Heysen Trail between Logans Gap (about 40km south of Burra) and Spalding, also undertaking projects such as the construction of several water tank/shelters.

Kangaroo Island Walking Club

Coastal and inland day walks monthly in various areas of Kangaroo Island. Walks are graded for high (A Grade), moderate (B Grade), and easy (C Grade) levels of fitness.

Keep Walking

Walks six days of the week in parks and reserves of greater metropolitan Adelaide. Sometimes a series of walks in a country area such as the Flinders Ranges or Kangaroo Island. Walks are available for all fitness levels.

WEA Ramblers Bushwalking Club

Hiking areas are mainly in the conservation parks within a radius of 30 km of Adelaide, but a few more distant places are occasionally visited. Walking distance is usually around 10 – 16 km, in about 4-5 hours of actual walking time, while the occasional walk of 20 km can occur.
