Grant Smith (L) with Matt Cowdrey MP, Member for Colton and Tuesday Udell, Walking SA Chair. Grant won a Longstanding Contribution / Distinguished Service Award for his work with the WEA Ramblers Bushwalking Club.

Grant joined the WEA Ramblers Bushwalkers in 1989. Since then he has participated in just about every Ramblers walk, to date completing over 760 hikes. From early on he has always been involved, first by taking on the role of Transport Officer, organizing getting walks to distant locations. For the past 28 years he has also been the Membership Officer. Grant has surveyed and led many walks for the Ramblers. The significant contribution Grant makes to the club is the website he has created and maintained since 2013. With a Photo Gallery and Map Gallery with 200 topographical maps, the website is a good record of walks undertaken, and a resource for other walkers.
