The Heart Foundation established The Prime Minister’s One Million Steps program to encourage thousands of Australians to get moving for better health. During the first activity promotion in 2018 the campaign gave participants 20 weeks to walk towards the magic target of a million steps or complete 100 group walks.

Heart Foundation Walking is a network of free community-based walking groups, with walks from 30 minutes to several hours, led by volunteer walk organisers.

They have used The Prime Minister’s One Million Steps program to build upon its strong foundation of walking groups to further promote and active community.
