Paul Di Iulio (CEO), Campbelltown City Council

2016 Award Winner
Award Category: Local Government Individual

Walkability is embedded in Campbelltown City Council‘s Environmental Management Plan (2020), one of four strategic plans of Council, as part of sustainable management and enjoyment of Campbelltown’s natural environment. Council is committed to improving the connection of existing open space and three main creek lines create linear open space corridors through Council’s urban areas.

The Chain of Trails Master Plan, endorsed in late 2014, was developed to establish a more accessible trail experience from the hills to the River Torrens Linear Park as several pathways were identified in Council’s Open Space Directions and Strategy (2012) as being poor quality or lacking connectivity.
