Following the Workanda Creek upstream the walk includes one of the most diverse and best-preserved woodland areas remaining in the Mount Lofty Ranges. Grey box woodland (Euralyptus microcarpa) is an endangered ecosystem. Once common across Adelaide, clearing has reduced it to remnants in the Adelaide Hills. Returning via Brady Gully past Playford Lake. A mixture of walking trail, and wider fire tracks.
Consisting of walking trail, the wide graveled surface is suitable for most abilities, including children, wheelchair users and strollers. Refer to the detailed Accessibility trail map for details of trail gradients and surfaces (Carawatha Loop Hike is labelled Number 2 and 3 on this map).
