We’re pleased to have provided feedback on the State Transport Strategy and present six key recommendations that champion the prioritisation of walking as a core mode of transport.
Our submission underscores the critical need for safer, more accessible pedestrian infrastructure, increased investment in active transport networks, and the seamless integration of walking into urban planning and new developments.
As we work towards a more sustainable and equitable transport system, it is essential that walking is recognised as a vital solution for reducing congestion, improving public health, and enhancing the liveability of our communities.
We urge the State Government to endorse Walking SA’s vision for a world-class, walkable South Australia — one where cities and neighbourhoods are intentionally designed to encourage more people to walk, more often.
Read our submission comprising of the following six key recommendations:
- Prioritising walking as a core mode of transport
