About the Walking Trail
The Arno Bay Progress Association produced this award winning Estuary Boardwalk which is very popular with residents and visitors. Along the board walk there are various seating options for picnics, areas for fishing and the creek is popular for swimming and kayaking.
The boardwalk is designed to showcase the diverse and pristine beauty of the Arno Bay estuary, winding through dense mangroves, mudflats and samphire with grass habitats over small tributaries alongside the main estuary waterway. The Arno Bay Progress Association continually upgrade the Boardwalk, you will notice that much of the boardwalk is in the process of being upgraded and replaced with recycled plastic products to ensure the longevity of the Boardwalk.
The mangrove boardwalk offers a safe swimming area, recreational fishing, wheelchair access and picnic. BBQ and toilet facilities.
The boardwalk has won a number of awards including the Outstanding Environmental Tourism Project award, SA Great award and Environment and Sustainability award.
