Black Rocks Hike

About the Walking Trail

Hike out to the rugged coastline of Avoid Bay with views from the top of sand dunes along the way. The trail begins from a small roadside car park. The hike can be quite a sandy walk, and when you reach the cliffs quite rocky, and the trail from there is unmarked and indistinct – follow the cliffs, or reach the first lookout into a bay and return (making it about 7.6km return).

This the first trail sign on the Black Rocks Hike.

Finding the start of the Black Rocks Hike trail at the carpark trailhead can seem difficult at first, but wander into the grassy area and within 100m you’ll see the first trail sign (refer to the photo below). If you cant find the first trail marker, return to the carpark, and walk about 30m along the road back towards Coffin Bay, you’ll see a fire track heading inland, follow this for 100m and you’ll reach this trail sign.
