About the Walking Trails
There are two walking trail loops at Fremont Park in Elizabeth. Both meander around the lake and follow the main creek line.
- Yellow Loop
1km
10-15min walk or 5min jog - Red Loop
2km
25-30min walk or 10-15min jog
Centrally located near the Elizabeth City Centre, the picturesque park features a large lake with fountain and waterfalls. There are bbqs, picnic shelters, a playgrouund with liberty swing and toilets.
Both trails are marked with painted signs on the paths and marker posts. Some of the painted signs on the paths are faded, but the trails are still generally easy enough to follow.
The trails are either bitumen or compacted gravel, so are suitable for people with all abilities (accessible trails), including prams, childrens bikes, and those who use mobility aids, including wheelchairs.
During mid-2017 the park is being upgraded with Stage One works of the masterplan. Stage One includes upgrading and repairing the main creek, adding a new shared use pathway with lighting and furnishings, and creating prominent entry points to the park.
