About the Walking Trail
Discover the narrow Hidden Gorge and magnificent views from the high Battery Ridge.
7 hours return, 18km circuit bushwalk.
Options to extend the walk by camping at Hidden Camp, and/or walking on to Alligator Gorge.
The walk begins at Mambray Creek Day Visitor Carpark or Mambray Creek Campground. Walking through Mambray Creek, past pools of permanent water, through native pine forest, the walk passes Hidden Gorge Campsite to enter the ever-narrowing Hidden Gorge. With steep red-rock walls, you can walk on through and out along a superb path up to The Battery, with extensive views over Spencer Gulf. Following the fire track for 1km the route exits to follow a single-track meanders back to the trailhead at Mambray Creek carpark.
The trail is very well marked, with signposts every 200m.
