About the Walking Trail
A short loop walk in the north-eastern corner of the semi-arid park. The park comprises remnant mallee woodland, dry heathland, native pines and broombush thickets typical of the area before European settlement and farming. Don’t ignore the fantastic flora of the park, there’s always something in flower in Monarto throughout the year. This walk is frequented by bird watchers, although bird life present may depend on what is flowering at the time you visit.
The trail is well marked with regular marker posts.
The walking trail was constructed by the Friends of the Ferries McDonald and Monarto Conservation Parks.
