About the Walking Trail
This walk begins at the car park just off Lock 4 road and winds its way through the Ngak Indau wetland, out to the river and back again. Check out the wetland birdlife like spoonbills, an array of duck species, herons and whistling kites.
This trail is in the Lock 4 and Eckert Creek Section of Murray River National Park.
The easiest way to drive to the trailhead is from Berri, along Draper Road and Lock 4 Road. If you enter the park from Old Sturt Highway, following the sign onto Lower Winkie Road, note there are no further directional signs, and you will need to turn left off the bitumen road onto the dirt Eckerts Road (there are no national park signs here).
