Old Noarlunga Hike, Onkaparinga River National Park

About the Walking Trail

Experience a hike along the Onkaparinga River, starting from the ford in Old Noarlunga. The walk takes in part of the Gorge Trek, but this walk only includes one rock scramble but does include some narrow walking trail. The trail climbs the hill following the pipeline, before descending steeply back to the river. Watch out when you reach the Old Coach Track and Gate 30, as the walking trail to the left is easily missed. The walking trail begins after the second stobie pole. If you missed the walking trail, you could continue down Old Coach Track and rejoin the river where you had earlier passed, before returning the same way to the river.

The trail originally started from the swingbridge in Old Noarlunga, but the bridge was swept away in the September 2016 floods. The new pedestrian bridge was opened in June 2019 so you can now access this hike from the Old Noarlunga town.
