About the Walking Trail
The Pelican Path, or Yunti Ngopun Ngami, follows the foreshore of Lake Albert in Meningie and is suitable for wheelchair uses, dog walking and kids bicycles. The trail is a sealed path.
A relaxed 400m interpretive walk situated along the waterfront of Lake Albert highlights the European, Aboriginal and environmental history of Meningie. Take advantage of the many seating and viewing platforms along the way and immerse yourself in the unique Coorong atmosphere.
It starts near the intersection of the main road, Narrung Rd and McIntosh Way bseide the Soldiers Memorial Park and heads north to the Birdman of the Coorong (an emu monument).
It would be easy to continue following the trail beyond the Birdman of the Coorong a further 500 metres to the Sailing Club.
On this trail you can join the Meningie ParkRun every Saturday morning at 8am. It’s free, and open to runners and walkers.
