Port River Bikeway (from Port Adelaide to Northern Connector)

About the Walking Trail

The Port River Bikeway, which opened in 2020, starts in Port Adelaide or the LeFevre Peninsula, and follows the Port Expressway to the Northern Connector, connecting to the Tapa Martinthi Yala Shared Use Path that runs alongside the Northern Connector motorway. In the north the Tapa Martinthi Yala Shared Use Path connects to the Stuart O’Grady Bikeway (which runs alongside the Northern Expressway). The total trails network of the three trails is 43km and is a shared-use bitumen trail, connecting Port Adelaide with Gawler.

As the trail is beside a motorway, it may be more attractive primarily to cyclists. Small sections, particularly around Port Adelaide, could be suitable for people walking, including walking whilst children cycle, pram users and wheelchair users.
