About the Walking Trail
This article on Weekend Notes by Steve Hudson details three walks around the wildlife sanctuary property Arkaroola, in the north east of South Australia.
All three walks commence from the Accommodation Village.
- Walk 1: Acacia Ridge (4 to 5 hrs). As the trail climbs, there are stunning views to the north and south of rolling hills and ranges that go on, and on, and on.
- Walk 2: Griselda Hill (1.5 hrs). The views from the top are breathtaking, and provide further evidence of the beauty of the region.
- Walk 3: Mawson-Spriggina Connecting Trail, the easiest of the three walks. The trail walks between The Pinnacles and offers great views from all angles.
All walks are suitable for families of all ages, with perhaps the latter part of Griselda Hill being the most difficult to negotiate.
