Williamstown Link Route, Southern Barossa Linkage Trails

About the Walking Trail

The Williamstown Link Route is part of the Southern Barossa Linkage Trails network, which links South Para Reservoir, Warren Reservoir, Mt Crawford Forest, Para Wirra Conservation Park, Warren Conservation Park and Williamstown.

The trail is Grade 4 so is recommended for experienced bushwalkers. The trail is a shared-use trail for both walkers, trail runners and mountain bikers (rated for mountain bikes as Intermediate – suitable for riders with a moderate level of skill and fitness.) Please exercise caution at the road junction north of the main carpark at South Para Reservoir as heavy vehicles utilise this road frequently.

Trail connections

The Williamstown Link Route enables Williamstown residents an opportunity to explore from their doorstep, this link utilises tracks through plantation forest. The trail enters South Para Reservoir and links with:

  1. Forest Loop, South Para Reservoir, 2h 5.1km loop (marked in purple on maps.)

  2. Peninsula Loop, South Para Reservoir, 2h 5.7km loop (marked in orange on maps.)

  3. Connection to the South Para Reservoir Reserve to Warren Reservoir Reserve Trail (marked in black on maps.) Use this trail to connect into the Dam Wall Loop in Warren Reservoir, or to the Warren to Para Wirra via South Para (marked in orange on maps.)

Getting there

Start the trail in the north, from the midway along Whiteman Rd, Williamstown SA 5351.

The trail ends in the south at South Para Reservoir on South Para Road (B31), Williamstown SA 5351, 2km south of Williamstown.

Dog walking not permitted

Dogs are not welcome at reservoir reserves as they can carry harmful organisms that can easily contaminate the water and present a risk to the safety of the drinking water. Assistance animals are accepted.
