The Willunga Basin Trail is a group working on bringing a concept trail around the Willunga Basin to fruition.
The 130km 5-day loop trail could be hiked using overnight stays in nearby accommodation. The route takes in Kangarilla, Willunga, Sellicks, Aldinga, Maslin Beach, Seaford Heights, McLaren Vale, the Onkaparinga River National Park. View map of the proposed route and stages.
Since February 2019 Willunga Basin Trail Inc has established 81km of waymarked trail. They have the support of the Onkaparinga Council and have received a grant from the Office of Recreation and Sport to pay for infrastructure. Maps of the sections which have been established can be downloaded from willungabasintrail.org.au.
Willunga Basin Trail Walkers walk every Friday on the trail and in the Southern region. View the current walk program at willungabasintrail.org.au. The first two walks are free and then we encourage you to join. Membership gives free weekly walks and the opportunity to work on building the trail.
